I am a writer with a day job in public health communications. My previous work with newly
arrived refugees in the United States is the inspiration for Resettled, a book of creative nonfiction
that reveals an inside view of refugee resettlement in America through the experiences of
individuals who grew up within the system.

I am currently seeking representation for Resettled.

My Story
I worked as a direct service provider in America's refugee resettlement program, assisting refugees, asylees, parolees, and SIV holders from all over the world. To borrow the cliché, the work was often rewarding. But my job managing an employment grant for refugees already in the US represented just a tiny fraction of the journey that refugees undertake. In terms of resettlement services, I helped people at the end of that journey. For the migrants, themselves, it marked the beginning of one more epic journey.
As a service provider in this incredible program I gained a close perspective on the challenges refugees face during such a monumental transition, but I also witnessed the how essential resettlement programs are to the people they serve. I invite you to visit the Resettled page to learn more about my book-in-progress aimed at using firsthand accounts of resettlement to recognize the sacrifice that is wrongfully forced upon over a hundred million people, examine the American environment for resettlement, and combat misinformation.
