I'm a writer with a serious reading habit and a professional background working in US refugee resettlement. I started the Home Room to help readers find literature across all genres from refugee authors and/or which contributes to a more informed and empathetic understanding of refugee lives.
This blog may serve more as a curation than a true review site, as I won't give ratings and I likely won't post reviews of any books I seriously didn't like (that, fyi, I am yet to come across in this purview), but I will always give my honest opinion and critiques of what I've read. I hope to steer readers towards books that are right for them because, after all, there will be something for everyone here!
Check in every two weeks for a new review and please feel free to leave recommendations for any books you'd like to see reviewed on this site.
Happy reading!
